The Dhaka Times Desk Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooq), the famous actor of Bengali films, the heroic freedom fighter, and the Honorable Member of Parliament of Dhaka 17 Constituency, left for the country of no return.
His son Sharat confirmed that he died while undergoing treatment in Singapore at 8:30 am on Monday (May 15).
Confirming the death, his son Sharat said that his father died around 8:30 am today. Everyone will pray for my father. He was under treatment in a hospital in Singapore for almost two years.
It is to be noted that hero Farooq arrived on the big screen through the film 'Jalchhabi' directed by H Akbar. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1975 for his performance. In 2016, he was awarded a lifetime award.
Among the notable films acted by this legend were Sareng Bau, Lathiyal, Sujan Sakhi, Nayan Moni, Alor Michili, Mia Bhai, Pinky Now Train, Din Jae Katha Khale, Saheb etc.
