HSC and equivalent exams are starting today

The Dhaka Times Desk Today Sunday (June 30) HSC and equivalent exams are starting. However, Sylhet Education Board, Madrasa Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board exams have been postponed till July 8 due to floods. The examination of these boards will start from July 9.

According to the notice, all coaching centers in the country will be closed from Saturday (June 29) to August 11 to prevent the attempt and question leakage of the HSC and equivalent exams that started on Sunday.

14 lakh 50 thousand 790 people will participate in the examination under 11 boards of the country. Out of which 7 lakh 50 thousand 281 students and 7 lakh 509 female students. These candidates will participate in the examination in 2 thousand 725 centers from 9 thousand 463 institutions. Today the first day Bengali (compulsory) 1st paper exam will be held at 10 am.

It should be noted that last year a total of 13 lakh 59 thousand 342 people participated in the HSC and equivalent exams. According to that calculation, the number of candidates increased by 91 thousand 448. Total institutions also increased by 204, total centers increased by 67.

On the other hand, a total of 88 thousand 76 people are participating in the Alim exam under the Madrasa Education Board. Out of which 47 thousand 592 students and 44 thousand 484 female students. These candidates will appear in 452 centers from 2,685 institutes. A total of 2 lakh 34 thousand 433 people will participate in the HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational, Diploma in Commerce) examination under Kagigri Education Board. Out of which 1 lakh 69 thousand 9 students and 65 thousand 424 female students. They will sit the exam in 707 centers out of 1 thousand 908 institutions.

However, due to flood, the examinations under Sylhet Education Board, Madrasa Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board will be delayed from June 30 till July 8. However, it is said that the time schedule for this exam, which started from July 9, will be announced later.

Some guidelines for the examination by the Ministry of Education:

1. Candidates must enter the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. If for any reason any candidate is allowed to enter after this, his name, roll number, time of entry, reason for delay should be written in the Registrar and a report should be given to the concerned Board of Education on the same day.

2. Candidates can use general scientific calculator in the exam. Programming calculators cannot be used.

3. No one other than the in-charge officer of the examination center can use mobile phone and no candidate can bring mobile phone in the examination center.

4. 25 minutes before the start of the exam, the set code of the question paper will be informed to the concerned through SMS. No one except the officer-in-charge can enter the center with mobile phones or electronic devices. Only officers in charge can use mobile phones (non-photo mobile).

5. No one other than the person concerned with the examination (such as the examinee, the room observer (invigilator), the center inspection team of the ministry, the center inspection team of the board, the inspection team of the district administration and upazila administration, members of the law enforcement agencies responsible for security) will not be allowed to enter the center.

6. The Ministry of Education has made special arrangements for the differently abled candidates. Among them, the visually impaired, cerebral palsy and disabled candidates who have no hands can participate in the examination with a scribe. An additional 20 minutes is extended for such candidates and hearing candidates.

7. The government has provided an opportunity for students with disabilities (autistic, downsyndrome, cerebral palsy) to take the exam with the special support of teachers, parents or helpers with an additional 30 minutes extension.

6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
