It is to be noted that on the way from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur to the court in Mymensingh, the police prison van was bombed and shot at and 3 convicts who were sentenced to death and life imprisonment were kidnapped. At that time, a police constable named Atiq was killed and 2 policemen were injured. Later one of the 3 accused was arrested from Sakhipur in Tangail and later he was killed in a 'gunfight'. The remaining 2 accused are still absconding.
