'Bangladeshi' trying to arrange 4 million Muslims in Assam!

The Dhaka Times Desk All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Member of Parliament Badruddin Ajmal has accused Assam's 4 million Muslims of trying to make them 'Bangladeshi'.

'Bangladeshi' & 40 million Muslims in Assam

Badruddin Ajmal, Chief Member of Parliament of All India United Democratic Front complained that there is an attempt to convert 40 lakh Muslims of Assam state of India into Bangladeshis. He complained on Monday that there is an attempt to exclude these names in the National Register of Citizens (NRC) renewal process. He also threatened to go to court against it. However, due to Ajmal's comments, a storm of criticism has started among the political parties in the state.

Badruddin Ajmal complained and said, "Some government employees involved in the renewal of civil registry are deliberately not cooperating." In any case, their main goal is to make the 4 million Muslims living in Assam Bangladeshi.

AIUDF MLA Abdul Rahim Khan said, "AIUDF is ready to accept the slander if they are labeled 'protectors of Bangladesh' for speaking up for the interests of the minority people of the state."

He further said, 'AIUDF is ready if we have to go to the Supreme Court to protect the interests of minorities.'

However, in response to Badruddin Ajmal's complaint, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi threw a counter challenge on Tuesday. He said, 'These kinds of complaints are politically motivated. Some people do not want the National Register of Citizens to be renewed. So they are already saying that there is a conspiracy to drop the names of 4 million people.'
