The Dhaka Times Desk While marijuana is being banned around the world, Chile has taken steps to legalize marijuana consumption!
The Chilean Parliament has recently passed a bill legalizing marijuana consumption! The bill states that recreational, medical and spiritual use of marijuana is legal. A bill was recently introduced in the Chilean Parliament to legalize the consumption of marijuana. The bill has also been passed by the lower house of the Chilean parliament.
Although the bill passed the lower house, it will now be sent to the country's health ministry. It is hoped that each house in Chile will be able to plant a maximum of 6 cannabis plants.
After the bill is approved by the Ministry of Health, it will be sent to the Senate, the upper house of Parliament. If the bill passes the Senate, the consumption and production of marijuana would be legal in Chile.
It should be noted that Chile's current marijuana law provides for up to 15 years in prison for anyone who sells, produces, or transports marijuana.
