It is known that yesterday (Wednesday) BRAC University Vice-Chancellor Syed Saad Andalib accepted this 'BRAC quest' prepared by his students from Japan's Kitakyushu Institute of Technology. The nano satellite is officially handed over to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency for launch.

The program was shown live through video conference at the university's Mohakhali campus at 11:00 Bangladesh time from Japan's Kitakyushu.

In this regard, Syed Saad Andalib said, 'This is a small step but the beginning of a big journey. Through the construction of this nano-satellite, the proof is that Bangladesh can also build it.

The satellite was designed and built by three young students of BRAC, Raihana Shams Islam Antara, Abdullah Hill Kafi and Maisun Ibn Manowar. These three students have graduated from BRAC University in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and are currently pursuing their Masters at KIT, Japan.

The head of this project told the media. Khalilur Rahman said that this artificial satellite of only 10 inches will help in communication and development work. It will be 400 km above the earth. It will take just 90 minutes for 'BRAC Quest' to orbit the Earth. It will fly over Bangladesh 4 to 6 times a day.

It was also informed in the event that the work of making or launching nano satellites will be controlled from Bangladesh even if it is in Japan. Another group of students from BRAC University is working on the construction of the ground control station. They are Mozammel Haque, Sanand Jagati, Vijay Talukder and Ainul Huda four students.

SPARSO has been assisting the construction of the station since the training of these four students. The station will be able to download data collected by the 6-minute BRAC search a day.

Bangladesh is going to inaugurate the Bangabandhu satellite on December 16 this year - BTRC chairman Shahjahan Mahmud said that earlier this nano satellite construction brought another success for Bangladesh.
