Google has released their new version of Android 9.0 Pie. It was previously released as a “developer preview” but is now officially released. For now, it's only open to Google's Pixel phones. Will be rolled out to all other phones later. But in that case good quality and new phone will be given more importance. This new version has brought more features. "Artificial Intelligence" or "AI" has been given more priority this time. All other features are leveraged using this “AI”. Many more features have been added including gesture navigation system, battery saver, app actions, new material design, app timer. The features are discussed below:
Gesture Navigation System
Android's old navigation button has been replaced with only the home button. And the back button will come only after launching the app. Meanwhile, the “Recent App” or multitask button has been removed. You have to do it through the home button. That's why you need to hold the home button and pull it up slightly. Then the recent apps will be side by side and you can easily switch to other apps. This system is very similar to the iPhone-X. It may seem a bit difficult at first. But later you can use it very easily.
Adaptive battery system
This is basically a battery saving feature. Earlier this kind of feature was also in other versions. But this time “AI” has added a new dimension to it. Suppose an app you run very little or never. Then it will close that app automatically. Will not run in background either. This will save both your RAM and battery.
Adaptive brightness system
Here also “AI” is used. Suppose you use one brightness setting during the day and another at night. Android will understand the way you change settings and then automatically turn on those settings at that time. In that case you don't need to do anything.
App action
This is a new feature where Android will understand what you want to do before you do anything. Suppose you insert the headphones in your mobile, then it will automatically show you whether you want to listen to such and such a song. It will suggest the last song you listened to.
App Timer
You can control your app usage more deeply with this feature. Suppose you don't want to use Facebook for more than 1 hour per day. Then you can schedule Facebook or YouTube through this feature. When the time is up, your mobile phone screen will turn gray and you will no longer be able to run the app.
Dashboard
Here you can see how much time you are spending on any app every day.
New material design
Some changes have been made to the design of the notification panel. Functionality will also increase. By doing this, the message can be replayed directly from the notification.
Media Control
The volume up/down option will now be vertical and next to the fingertip.
