Tribal leader Krishna Garbiyal, a resident of Baisya Valley, said that the state government has failed to provide ration as per our requirement. Due to the lack of ration, the villagers are buying Chinese food from the market in Nepal and eating it. Valley soil does not yield proper crops. So the villagers have to look to the government all the time.

Krishna Garbial said, 'Our only hope is Chinese products. We buy rice, pulses, oil and even soap from China. Not only our village, but the same situation prevails in at least 7 other villages around.'

Another resident named Nabiyal told the media, 'The government gives only 2 kilograms of rice and 5 kilograms of wheat per family.

Because of that, the people of these border villages are in such a situation that they have to cross the border to buy Chinese products in Nepal. Besides, some residents told the media that they have no choice.
