The Dhaka Times Desk Maitri Express runs from Dhaka to Kolkata 4 days a week, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It leaves Dhaka Cantonment Station at 8:15 AM and reaches Kolkata Chitpur Station at 4 PM. Kolkata comes to Dhaka 4 days a week. Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Departs Kolkata Chitpur Station at 7:10 AM and reaches Dhaka Cantonment Station at 4:05 PM.

* 50% discount for children is applicable if aged between 1 to 5 years. Age will be determined as per passport.
* Tickets are given for 3 seats in single cabin and 6 seats in double cabin.
Procedure for collecting tickets
* Tickets for Dhaka to Kolkata should be booked by going to “Kamalapur Railway Station” and “Chittagong Railway Station”. Dhaka-Kolkata Maitri train tickets are not sold anywhere else.
* Tickets are issued daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
* Advance tickets are being collected from 29 days before the journey.
* For each ticket the original copy of passport (no photocopy is acceptable) must be collected at the counter. Serial number will be written in the form. Then fill the form and wait. According to the serial will be called to get tickets.
* Tickets are issued from the counter even if there is no visa. But visa is required for return ticket.
* Refund of ticket: Service charge of Tk 25 for refund in case of return before 120 hours of departure, service charge of Tk 50% for service charge of less than 120 hours and more than 96 hours will be deducted per ticket.
A service charge of Rs.75% is deductible from the ticket price for periods less than 96 hours and more than 72 hours. In other cases no price is refundable.
* Kolkata to Dhaka train tickets can be booked from Kamalapur railway station. Out of total tickets 20% tickets are issued from Dhaka. And remaining 80% tickets are issued from Kolkata counter.
* Tickets for Kolkata to Dhaka should be purchased at “Fairly Place Railway Building” in Dalhousie or “Kolkata Terminal” in Chitpur. Kolkata-Dhaka train tickets are not sold anywhere else.
* Tickets are offered at Fairleigh Place from 10am to 5pm. And at Kolkata station tickets are issued from 4 pm to 9 pm on the 2nd floor of the station.
Immigration process of Maitri train
Time to go from Dhaka to Kolkata –
* After reaching Dhaka Cantonment Station collect “Immigration Form” and fill it.
* Indian Immigration Disembarkation Card or Landing Pass will be distributed on the train before reaching Kolkata station. Fill it up. Enter the address and phone number of your hotel instead of the address and phone number in the form. However, those who go to the relative's house will give the full name, address and phone number of the relative.
* After stopping the train, quickly stand in the immigration line. At this time, a declaration form will be given by the Indian customs. Fill it up. After completing the immigration, the baggage should be taken to the scanning machine and the filled form should be submitted before exiting.
* Employees must carry NOC.
Arrival time from Kolkata to Dhaka –
* Reach Kolkata Chitpur station by 5 am.
* The first thing to do at the Kolkata station is to take the declaration form and fill it properly and stand in the immigration line.
* After reaching Dhaka Cantonment Station, passengers will be issued immigration embarkation card or boarding pass. Apart from this, there are separate lines for cabin passengers and chaircoach passengers for customs formalities at this station.
Travel Bag Weight:
An adult can carry up to 35 kg of luggage free of charge in two pieces of luggage. If you have children, you can take up to 20 kg for them free of charge.
In case of goods above 35 kg, duty from 35 kg to 50 kg is $2 per kg per kg. And if it is more than 50 kg, the fee will be 10 dollars per kg.
Note: For the convenience of esteemed passengers in the train, light food and beverages are provided in the attached dining car which is provided subject to the payment of a fixed price by the passenger. The food menu and price list are displayed in the food cart.
It is a punishable offense to board/alight the train if the train stops at any unscheduled stop during the journey. Such attempt will be handed over to Railway Police.
