Its location is in Tekerghat, Sunamganj. Visit Sunamganj with peace of mind to immerse yourself in its unique beauty.
Many people visit Sunamganj's Tangua Haor. There are many beautiful scenic spots around Butu that can blow any tourist's mind in no time. One such place is Limestone Lake, an abandoned limestone mine at Tekerghat. Local people know it as Niladri Lake. As beautiful as its name is, its form is also charming. If you don't see it with your own eyes, you can't believe that the color of the water is so blue and a magical form of nature. The hills in the middle and the lower part of the hills on the other side are the last border of Bangladesh. There is a wire fence bordering the big hill itself. The lake was once the supply depot for raw limestone for a limestone factory, now defunct.
How to visit Niladri?
Route-1:
From Dhaka, Shyamoli/Mamun/Ena and some other buses go to Sunamganj, get on any one, the fare will be Tk 550 per person. From Sunamganj you have to cross the new bridge and take a motorcycle. If you want, you can directly reserve a motorcycle up to Tekerghat. In this case, the fare can be 300-500 taka and the fare for crossing the Jadukata river in the middle will be 5 taka per person and the fare for a motorcycle will be 20 taka.
Besides, you can go from Sunamganj to Lauder by motorbike for a fare of Tk 200. Then you can go to Tekerghat from Barikka Tila by crossing the river Yadukata for 120 taka. The motorcycle rental mentioned here is full bike rental means 2 people can go on one bike. But don't be fooled if you buy the motorbike rental in advance, they will raise the price a bit if you see a stranger.
Route-2:
Dhaka to Netrokona Mohanganj intercity train name is Haor Express. Departure time from Dhaka is 11:00 pm, fare is between Tk 200, reach Mohanganj in the morning. From there 1 hour drive to Madhyanagar, Pitch Dhala road. From there you can easily go to the destination by boat, trawler or speedboat during monsoon. And from Netrakona you can go directly to Yog by boat/trawler. In winter, you can easily go from Netrakona by motorcycle.
It can be easily reached at the lowest cost, in comfort, in the shortest time.
If one wants to take his own car to Madhyanagar (Pipra Kanda Ghat) he can take his own car, microbus or car or jeep. The road is very beautiful. Shortcut route from Dhaka via Netrakona to Barhatta or Mohanganj to Tekerghat.

There are several rest houses and guest houses in Barachara Bazar. You can stay there for 200-400 taka for one night. After passing Barikka Tila, you will see Barachara Bazaar. If you want, you can walk from Tekerghat to Barachara Bazar, it will be nice to walk along Metho road. There is also a closed limestone factory next to the lake where you can stay at the guest house if it is available.
Food:
There are food hotels in Barikka Tila, also you can eat at Barachara market or Tekerghat is a small market next to the lake and there is only one hotel for food. Be sure to know the price first.
Some suggestions:
A large amount of limestone was quarried from here, making the lake very deep. If you don't know how to swim in the water of the lake, it is better not to go down. Even if you get off, don't go too far. Be careful as it is a border area. Better not to go too close to the border.
