Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid along with board chairmen handed over the summary of results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban today (Monday).
A combined 83.65 percent of students passed JSC-JDC last year. Among them, 1 lakh 91 thousand 628 got perfect GPA.
After handing over the copy of the result, the Education Minister said that earlier the result was calculated based on the marks of the fourth subject of the eighth class students. It was not done this year as part of a series of changes to the assessment system.
Commenting that the number of students who got GPA-5 has decreased, the minister said, "If you add the marks of the fourth subject, it will be seen that GPA five has increased."
Education Minister Nahid held a press conference at the secretariat at 12 noon and highlighted various aspects of this year's JSC-JDC results. Students will get to know the result after his press conference.
From November 1 to 15, 25 lakh 99 thousand 169 students from all over the country participated in JSC-JDC. Among them 22 lakh 30 thousand 829 passed.
Among them, the pass rate in JSC under 8 boards is 85.28 percent. 89.04 percent students have passed in JDC under Madrasa Board.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar handed over the summary of the results of the primary final examination of the fifth class students to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the same event today (Monday) at Ganabhaban.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the free textbook distribution program by handing over new books of 2019 to the students of different educational institutions of the capital at the Ganobhaban ceremony.

97.59% Pass in Primary, 97.69 % in Ibtedayi
97.59 percent of the fifth grade students passed the preliminary final examination and 97.69 percent of the students passed the Ibtedayi this year.
Among them 3 lakh 68 thousand 193 got GPA-5 in primary. And 12 thousand 264 people got full GPA in Ibtedayi.
