Popular actor Saleh Ahmed has been ill for several years. He was dying of lack of money and neglect. About 7 years ago he had a brain stroke. He also has rheumatic problems including lung inflammation. That's why he can't even speak clearly. This once popular actor cannot even walk normally.
That is why he was completely away from acting. No one even looked for him for a long time. Writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed used to look for him while he was still alive, sending baskets of fruits for his beloved actor.
After the death of Humayun Ahmed, no one even remembered the actor. Around 2016, it was revealed in several media reports that the former Daput actor Saleh Ahmed was quietly passing away at his residence in Uttarkhan in the capital. After that, many people in Natyangon were shocked.
Then there was a demand that government grants should be arranged for the treatment of Saleh Ahmed.
Abhinaya Shilpi Sangh recently took initiative for the treatment of Saleh Ahmed. Finally, the artist-friendly Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to the side of this actor. The Prime Minister has given a grant of Tk 25 lakh for the treatment of Saleh Ahmed.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the donation check to Saleh Ahmed's family and the Executive Council of the Actors' Association on Friday. Ahsan Habib Nasim, general secretary of Abhiniya Shilpi Sangh, confirmed the matter to the media.
The members of Shilpi Sangh expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for standing by the helpless talented actor like Saleh Ahmed. Many people in Natangan also applauded the new head of government on this news.
It should be noted that Saleh Ahmed was born in Sariakandi, Bogra. Saleh Ahmed was associated with Amravati Theater in Mymensingh besides working in Public Health Engineering Department. He used to act regularly on BTV before independence.
After retiring in 1991, Saleh Ahmed began acting in Humayun Ahmed's plays and films. Saleh Ahmed's journey into the world of acting began with the series 'Ayomoy' and the film 'Aguner Parasmani'. After that, Saleh Ahmed acted in numerous TV dramas and films.
