Built in 2005, this mosque is the largest and oldest mosque in North America. Founded in 1963, the Islamic Center felt the need for a mosque in this predominantly Muslim area of America.
That is why in 1949, Imam Mohammad Jawad Siri came to the minority group in America and offered to build a mosque. That group used to listen to the message of Islam to him. Then the mosque was built on his initiative.
After that, the number of Muslims in the area gradually increased. In January 2007, anti-Sia graffiti destroyed the image of a mosque once vandalized. The mosque was built to help the Muslims there. Spreading religious knowledge among Muslims was one of the goals of this mosque. At the same time, work was done to build the Muslim community in America on social, moral and religious standards. Since then, Arabic language education here has helped spread the knowledge of Islam in American society and spread Arab culture and build positive social relationships. In that sense it can be called a historical mosque.
