The Dhaka Times Desk US Senator Bernie Sanders spoke in support of Muslims in a mosque in the US state of California. Sanders spoke in support of Muslims after 50 worshipers were killed by white supremacist terrorists at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Last day (Saturday) going to a mosque in California, Sanders said, 'In this difficult time we should all stand together against all forms of hatred and authoritarianism. We are not seeing this situation only in America or in any particular part of the world, but we are seeing this trend everywhere in the world.'
After speaking in solidarity with the Muslim community at a California mosque, Sanders also visited the Islamic Center there. The event was attended by leaders of various religions including Muslim scholars and common people.
Bernie Sanders has already announced that he will compete in the 2020 US presidential election. In the 2016 election, he contested as a Democrat, but lost to Hillary Clinton in the primary.
