According to media reports, according to the Penal Code of the United Arab Emirates, if a person eats food or drinks water in public during Ramadan or encourages someone to eat, he will be sentenced to one month in jail and a fine of around 46 thousand Bangladeshi currency as a penalty.
It is said that this law will be effective in the case of other religions including Muslims. However, the passed law has been criticized by other religions.
It is also reported that if a shop encourages people to eat during the month of Ramadan in the emirate, that shop will be closed for a month as punishment. Also, it has been mentioned in the news that even if anyone begs during the month of Ramadan, he will go to jail.
