At least 18 people have died in floods in Russia's Siberia region so far. At least 17 others are missing. 191 people have been admitted to hospital.
At least 55 towns and villages in the Irkutsk region were flooded. At least 4,000 houses have been waterlogged. About 33 thousand residents of 83 villages have been affected. 40 villages are still under water.

A state of emergency has already been declared in the Irkutsk region of Siberia. Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the affected areas. On Putin's orders, the Russian Defense Ministry has sent more than 1,300 service personnel, vehicles and aircraft to the wildlife area. The country's law enforcement forces are constantly controlling the flood situation.
