The international media has been criticizing the current situation in Egypt for the past few days. The army removed Morsi from power on July 3. At that time they arrested Morsi along with at least seven of his close leaders. No specific charges have been filed against him so far. However, on July 10, an official said that the incident of Morsi's escape from prison in 2011 will be investigated. It is alleged that the Palestinian armed group Hamas had the help of Morsi and many others who escaped from prison during the anti-Mubarak movement. Morsi was believed to be detained at the headquarters of the Presidential Guard in Cairo. On July 8, supporters of Morsi's political party Freedom and Justice Party and the main party Muslim Brotherhood surrounded the headquarters and demonstrated. At least 51 people were killed when the army opened fire to disperse them. At least 69 people are claimed to have been killed in the days of incidents. After the incident, the situation in the country turned towards extreme instability. The military government issued arrest warrants against hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood leaders and activists, including the supreme leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammad Badi. They were accused of aiding and abetting protests and violence.
A relative of a close aide of Morsi, who disappeared on the night of the military coup, said that no one in the family has been in contact with the person since the night of the incident. The relative, who did not want to reveal his name for the sake of the safety of the missing persons, said that in the last few days, he could only say - 'I am fine.' We don't know where they are. I don't even know who has detained them or how many people have been detained.' The relative said that they received some phone calls from several people. They seem to be security forces.
