The Dhaka Times Desk Doctors in Hong Kong have announced the discovery of a new 'tricks' in the treatment of Corona. Their research report was published in the medical journal 'Lancet'.
Recently, this team of doctors reported that a combination of 3 antiviral drugs with immune system boosting drugs can help patients recover faster from coronavirus infection.
They say that, although the method needs further testing, it is a new treatment that could open doors of possibilities for Covid-19 patients. Currently, the only approved antiviral drug for the treatment of Corona is Remdesivir. It is said that it further reduces the duration of the patient's illness. However, there are supply constraints due to insufficient supply of the drug.

Dr. Hong Kong University. Dr. Kwok-Yung Yuen and colleagues tested the HIV/AIDS drugs ritonavir and lopanavir, along with the common antiviral drugs ribavirin and beta interferon, a drug used in multiple sclerosis – these three drugs together on corona patients.
All patients in that study had mild to moderate coronary attack symptoms and were started on treatment within 7 days of a positive test. Some doctors believe that treating patients with these drugs early in the course of the infection may lead to better outcomes.
Dr. Yuen's team gave some patients a combination of two drugs used only for HIV. Others used HIV/AIDS drugs along with the antiviral drugs ribavirin and beta interferon injections.
It found that patients who received the 3 drugs together tested negative for the coronavirus after an average of 7 days. However, those who received only HIV drugs were found to test negative after an average of 12 days.
Research also suggests that patients receiving the 3 drugs together begin to feel better within 4 days of starting the drug.
The researchers wrote that 'preliminarily these 3 antiviral therapies are individually safer and better than lopanivir-ritonavir used alone in HIV. These combined medicines further reduce the symptoms of corona. This drug can also reduce the duration of hospital stay.
The researchers also noted that the drug may be effective in patients suffering from mild to moderate Covid-19 symptoms.
