The Dhaka Times Desk The Appellate Division will announce the appeal verdict of Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Abdul Quader Mollah, who was sentenced to life for crimes against humanity.
Yesterday, July 23, Chief Justice Md. A five-member bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court headed by Mozammel Hossain kept the case pending judgment (CAV) after the 39th day of hearing. Through this, the first case of crimes against humanity will be settled in the Appellate Division.
It is to be noted that on February 5, the International Criminal Tribunal-II sentenced Kader Molla to life imprisonment for crimes against humanity. The government appealed on March 3 to increase the sentence. The next day, Kader Mollah appealed for acquittal. The hearing of the appeal began on April 1.
