In an interview, Andrew Kishore himself said that his mother and teacher Minu Barai knew that one day Andrew would be a very big artist. His mother was very fond of Kishore Kumar's music. So Kishore was added at the end of the boy's name.
He has seen the golden times of the Bangladeshi music world as well as the drought. But he did not get involved in anything. He introduced himself as a singer. Music was life, he could be seen alive in music.

Andrew Kishore was born on November 4, 1955 and has become the emotional companion of millions of people. He studied in Rajshahi University.
Andrew Kishore initially took music lessons under Abdul Aziz Bachchu. After the independence war of Bangladesh, Andrew Kishore was listed in Rajshahi Betar in almost all genres including Kishore Nazrul, Rabindranath, modern, folk, patriotic songs. Andrew Kishore started singing in films in 1977. His first singing film was titled 'Mail Train'.
The director was Shibli Sadiq. In this film she sang the song 'Achinpurer Rajkumari Nei Je Tar Keo'. This was his first song in the film. The composer and music director of that song was Alam Khan. But Andrew Kishore reached out to everyone after two years. His song was 'Dak Diyachen Dayal Amare'. Written by Moniruzzaman Monir, the composer and music director was Alam Khan.
But he came to Dhaka even before that. In 1977 to participate in a 'talent hunt' competition in Dhaka. He sang the song 'Saheli O Saheli' there. But that song was never published anywhere. After that, Andrew Kishore gradually climbed up holding Alam Khan's hand.
He has also sung many songs in many films of Bangladesh and other countries. That is why he is known as 'Playback Emperor'.
