The Dhaka Times Desk China has now approved a vaccine for Corona after the first and second phase of the tests were very successful.
This corona vaccine was developed by Chen Wei's team, an infectious disease specialist of the Chinese army, and Sansino Biologics. China registered the vaccine called 'Ad5-NCOV' yesterday (Sunday).
China Global Television Network (CGTN) gave this information on Twitter. The tweet said that China has approved the patent for the first corona vaccine. The vaccine was developed by PLA (Chinese Army) infectious disease expert Chen Wei's team. Earlier Phase II trials showed the vaccine was safe and able to induce immunity.
Citing clinical trial data published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Xinhua News Agency also reported that this corona vaccine is safe and has produced immunity. 320 healthy volunteers aged 18 to 59 years participated in the Phase I trial. 224 volunteers participated in the second phase.
The news agency also reported that the results of the trial indicated that the vaccine effectively produced neutralizing antibodies in the volunteers and showed good immunity.
Earlier, Russia registered the first corona vaccine. Yesterday (Sunday) the Ministry of Health of the country said that they have already started making Corona vaccine. Their corona vaccine will be administered first to doctors and health workers.
