The Dhaka Times Desk Gunmen have shot dead the newly elected MP of Myanmar's ruling party, the NLD, Hati Zaw.
Unidentified gunmen shot him in front of a shop in Shan State on Saturday. Law enforcement forces could not identify the attacker. Suu Kyi's party strongly condemned the incident on Sunday. This is referred to as political violence.
Party spokesperson Myo Nayant said the newly elected MP used to run a shop next to his house in Kayaukmi town. He was shot dead in front of that shop. He went out of the shop as a customer came. The customer shot him dead. We condemn such violence, especially politically motivated violence, which is very bad for the future.'
The Myanmar Times reported that two unidentified men on a motorcycle appeared in front of his shop. At this time, one shot the member of Parliament. The bullet hits right side of his chest. He died on the way to the district hospital.
It should be noted that the general election of Myanmar was held on November 8. The 50-year-old Zhao won that election. Also, Aung Sa Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party won with a huge margin in this election. The country's army-backed opposition, however, is said to have demanded re-election.
