The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) said that internet service in Bangladesh may face slowness for 4 hours from 2 pm to 6 am on January 30.
In a notification, the agency said that during this period, the CM-W-5 authority will carry out maintenance work on the submarine cable. By doing this, all circuits terminated at Kuakata Landing Station through CM-W-5 will be closed for 4 hours.
BSCCL also informed that C-MI-4 submarine cable and ITC operator's circuit will also be operational during this time.
All in all, internet service will be maintained. However, customers are expected to face some slowdown.
Note that in 2017, Bangladesh was connected to the Southeast Asia-Middle-East-Western Europe-5 (C-MI-5) submarine cable through the second submarine cable landing station at Kalapara in Patuakhali. Before that, Bangladesh was connected with the first submarine cable C-MI-U-4 in 2005.
