The Dhaka Times Desk A Bangladeshi couple named Abdur Rahman Muim (48) and Papia Begum (38) were killed in a road accident in the UK.
Abdur Rahman Muyim's house is in Vinayshree village of Mansurnagar union of Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar. His wife Papia Begum's father's house is in Bajrakona village of Manumukh Union of Sadar Upazila of the same district. This couple has a good reputation in Moulvibazar for standing by the people of their area in times of danger.
The accident took place on February 22 at around 3 pm Bangladesh time. The matter was confirmed by Mohammad Alam of Bazarakona village of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila, cousin of the deceased Papia Begum and Faisal Miah, nephew of the deceased Abdur Rahman Muim.
According to those two relatives and local sources, this accident happened on that day (February 22) at Radis Birmingham Road in the United Kingdom. Papia Begum died on the spot. Papia's husband businessman Abdur Rahman Muyim was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors on duty declared him brought dead. Abdur Rahman Muyim and Papia Begum have been living in Birmingham since 1993.
On the day of the incident, the couple had gone to deliver food to a house in the Birmingham area. The accident took place when their car collided with another car while returning home after delivering food. They have one son and three daughters. After the news of their death became known in the country, a shadow of mourning fell among the relatives and neighbors.
