New customers are getting connected to 'Nagad' soon after the introduction of the digital financial service 'Nagad' of the Department of Posts to open accounts by dialing *167# and setting the PIN. On February 17, 1 lakh 85 thousand customers were added to the platform of 'Nagad'. A few days before and after that, the number of customers increased at almost the same rate. Although the number is a little less during public holidays, 'Nagad' has received an average of one and a half lakh new customers every day in the last two weeks. That is why the active subscriber base of 'Nagad' has now crossed 3 crore which is a major step forward in increasing financial inclusion in the country. 'Cash' has already been awarded by several international organizations for increasing financial inclusion using technology.
Considering the number of customers, the market share of 'Nagad' is 30 percent at the moment, which the operator is working on with a plan to increase it to 50 percent within the current year.
