Israeli police first surrounded the house in the city and asked Sheikh Ekrima, the imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to come out. A relative of Ekrima alleged that no reason was given during his arrest.
Ekrima has been arrested several times before by the Israeli authorities. He was also banned from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for months at a time.
Note that Al Aqsa Mosque is one of the mosques of Muslims. Al Aqsa Mosque has a long history of Islam. But Israel has closed this mosque for a long time. Israel has been doing politics around this mosque for many years. Which is not acceptable to any Muslim in the world.
