Today is a special day in our national life. Because it has completed 50 years of independence. On the occasion of the great Independence Day, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered the message.
Due to many unexpected events in the life of our Bengalis in this March itself, today we have this desired month of independence. From Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech, to the agreement with Khawaja Nazimuddin, to Jinnah's Race Course speech on March 21, Operation Search Light, to the massacre of March 25, finally we have March 26, Independence Day. On March 25, 1971, at midnight, the barbaric Pakistani invaders forced the brutal war on the lives of the Bengali nation by brutally attacking the unarmed Bengalis in the name of Operation Searchlight, including the capital Dhaka, in the name of Operation Searchlight, in order to silence the voice of the Bengali nation forever. I reached the desired goal.
Despite winning the majority of votes in the 1970 general elections and the bloody war, the Pakistani army indiscriminately killed many people, intellectuals, women and children, along with political leaders and military officers. At the beginning of the army operation, the invading forces arrested Bangabandhu from his Dhanmondi residence. Before his arrest, Bangabandhu declared the independence of Bangladesh in the early hours of March 26 and called for resistance against the enemy at any cost.
Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra said that Major Zia, the Provincial Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Liberation Army, was broadcasting Bangladesh's independence message on behalf of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It is further informed that a sovereign and lawful government has been formed under the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which is committed to carrying out its activities in accordance with the law and the constitution. This government will remain committed to a policy of non-alignment in international relations. This state will continue to maintain friendly relations with all nations and will continue to strive for world peace. Governments of all countries are also urged to build public opinion against the brutal genocide of Bangladesh in their respective countries in this message. It is claimed in this message that the government of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a sovereign and lawful government and deserves to be recognized by all the democratic states of the world.
We snatched our desired victory, got the flag of an independent Bangladesh. These facts are more or less known to all of us, at least as a Bengali it is our responsibility to present the correct history of independence to us and our next generation.
Independent Bangladesh took place on the world map on the path of the great Independence Day. We achieve red-green flags. Although our flag used to have the map of Bangladesh painted in yellow between the red sun. Like other international days, our Independence Day has now got a global recognition thanks to Google. Thanks to Google, billions of people in the world know about our freedom.
Expatriate Bengalis are also constantly promoting our independence spirit outside the country. But behind every achievement lies the long history of a nation; Attainment and non-attainment.
However, the importance and significance of this year's Independence Day is different from other years. Because this is the 50th anniversary of independence. Many war criminals have been living in independent Bengal, leaving the common people of the country suffering and denying the existence of the country and joining hands with the evil forces. But Independence Day became particularly important in national life with the trial of the most hated war criminals against independence.
Many unknown freedom fighters or ordinary people participated in this war in different ways. But many of them did not get the hero status they deserved due to lack of proper rehabilitation. Although many kinds of programs are undertaken by the state on this day every year, but we have to move forward with the government and various social organizations or individuals with a sincere desire to support the real fighters or their families.
