Buying beef for Rs 50 was unthinkable at least 40 years ago. But now I can't think of buying beef for 50 rupees. Because the prices of daily necessities are increasing every day. The life of the middle and lower classes has become a nightmare due to skyrocketing prices.
However, selling beef for just 50 taka may be a little comforting to many. At Bihari Patti, located just west of Road No. 33 of E-Block, Mirpur-12 of the capital. When you go there, you will see the 'nephews of Shahid and Sharif
of a meat shop called 'Shop'. The sale runs from 8 am to 11 pm daily. They mainly sell beef and chicken.
It is known that Shahid and Sharif have 7 brothers and one sister. Father and mother are with them. They live in Bihari Patti. Even though the two elder brothers are teenagers, they are managing the family. Any quantity of meat is sold in their shop. Anyone can buy beef for 50 taka. Anyone can buy liver or chicken meat from their shop for any amount of money. Although the number of family members of the two brothers is large, they have a unique humanity towards the poor and working people.
Sharif told the media that people who want to eat meat but cannot buy it because of the high price, basically they buy meat from us here. For 15 years, the store has been running just like this. Earlier my father used to run, now we run this shop.
Sharif also said that anyone can buy any quantity of meat from our shop. However, selling less meat does not make them profit. Because they never add bones to these meats. Yet they have always maintained this system for poor people.
An old man is a regular buyer of beef every day. But he buys 50 rupees worth of meat every day. Sharif cut the pieces of meat into small pieces. In this way they get satisfaction by selling meat to some poor buyers. So the people of that area know them by the same name.
