Initially, the researchers claimed that Omicron caused a milder infection with a lower risk of death. Omicron causes lung infections 10 times slower than other types.
Ongoing studies on the new type of corona Omicron have not yet been published. However, experts have confirmed that this type of corona is more contagious than other types.
Researchers are currently examining how severe the risk of death may be in patients with Omicron. A group of researchers from the University of Hong Kong also published a draft of their research on Omicron.
This study suggests that in the trachea, omicrons are 70 times more likely to transform than coronal delta types. However, this type does not cause much infection in the lungs.
Omicrons develop lung infections at least 10 times slower than early circulating corona, the researchers believe. This means that Omicron infection is very mild.
Dr. Michael Chan, who led the study, said that after the coronavirus causes an infection in the lungs, there is a serious risk of death.
The risk is usually much lower if the infection is in the upper respiratory tract rather than the lungs. Omicron appears to infect the upper airways.
However, seeing the results, Dr. Michael Chan said, even if this is the case, there is nothing to worry about. Because if there is no immunity in the body, any danger can happen.
A group of researchers in Scotland have studied the infection of Omicron in the upper part of the airways instead of in the lungs.
It is said that there is a type of protein cell in the lungs. The name of which is TMPRSS Two. In the past, it was through this protein that the corona virus infected the lungs.
However, Omicron is unable to penetrate TMPRSS Two and cause infection. Due to which this type is not able to affect the lungs as much as other types.
