The Dhaka Times Desk A 3,000-year-old sword has been found in Germany. Anthropologists say that this sword is more than 3 thousand years old.
The sword was discovered last week during excavations at a cemetery in the country's southern state of Bavaria.
The sword is believed to date back to the late 14th century BC. Its handle is octagonal. The Bronze Age sword is still in very good condition.
The BLFD, the local Bavarian regional authority, says the sword is in such good condition that it still 'shines'.
Bones of men and women, including children, were also found at the site where the sword was found. Anthropologists are still not sure if these 3 are related or not.
Authorities say that making such a sword is quite a difficult task. Archaeologists say that ancient swords were probably not used for attacking purposes. So it's still good. Matthias Fiel, a conservator at the Bavarian State Office, described the monument as an extremely rare find.
