The Dhaka Times Desk Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh has called for a 48-hour hartal on Wednesday and Thursday in protest against the verdict of Quader Mollah.
Citing Jamaat sources, the news media said, Jamaat's executive council members, working council members and acting secretary, along with policy-making level leaders have taken this decision in a discussion.
It should be noted that the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ordered the death sentence against Quader Molla on Tuesday morning. After the hearing, the 5-member bench of the Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Md. Mozammel Hossain gave this verdict based on the majority opinion. The other judges of the bench are Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Mia, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury.
