He claimed that the two cases of Shahbagh and Tejgaon police stations in connection with the bomb blast and car burning during the hartal are baseless and false. There is no precedent in the history of 41 years that almost all the top leaders of a large political party have been charged with a case. There has been no incident in the past of preventing the court from going for bail after filing the case. He also commented that it will be dealt with through a legal battle.
In response to a question from journalists, Mirza Fakhrul also said that BNP is willing to sit in dialogue only if they accept the demand for elections under a non-partisan government. He said, we are ready to discuss or dialogue with the government at any place regarding non-partisan government. Before that, the supervisor must declare that he accepts the matter in principle. Stating that elections under a party government will not be accepted, he said, if a survey is conducted in Bangladesh now, it will be seen that 90 percent of people want elections under a non-party government.
