Dhaka Times Report. There is a huge demand for Bangladeshi-made clothes in the world market. Garment industry has been playing an important role in the export sector of the country. But various conspiracies are going on with this clothing industry. Sometimes the workers are being harassed in this industry and creating chaos, sometimes they are trying to destroy our garment industry by introducing quota system.

Recently, in a meeting with officials and traders related to the garment industry of Bangladesh, the European Union expressed their different views. The European Union has said that the European Union is interested in buying clothes made in Bangladesh at a higher price than the current market price. However, the organization has urged to ensure the fair rights of factory workers and environmental issues. This information was given in a seminar organized by the European Union Delegation of Bangladesh at Lavita Lake Shore Hotel in Gulshan of the capital on the morning of May 15. William Hanna, Ambassador of the European Union to Bangladesh, said this in his speech as the chief guest at the seminar.
Also present at this time, EU's Head of Political Economy, Andrew Barnard. Zillul Hai Raj, Trade Counselor, Embassy of the European Union, presented the keynote at the seminar. William Hanna said, EU consumers want to know the environment and the rights of the workers involved when buying a product. For this, the environmental and labor rights of the factory should be guaranteed. He said, Bangladesh has come a long way, so the exporters here will understand the good for them.
Not only the European Union, but everyone wants the workers of this country to understand their fair dues. But some vested interests are always playing games with the garment industry of this country. And because of this, this potential industry of the country is passing through critical times today. The question of everyone concerned is why we are lagging behind in spite of the demand of our clothes in the world market.
Talked to a clothing factory owner about this. He said, our buyers always like the clothes we make. They like Bangladeshi clothes more than other countries. But this news is not good for many countries. And therefore, if any foreign party is involved behind the labor unrest in our country, then we will not call it a lie. He thinks that no matter how many conspiracies there are, if the government is right then we can handle all the situations. Because here not only our own image but also the country's image depends a lot.
