The Dhaka Times Desk The last session of the Parliament is going to be held today. This will be the last session of the Ninth Parliament if the time is not extended.

If for some reason the period of the session is not extended then today is going to be the last session of the ninth parliament. Yesterday Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 Speaker Dr. The session of the parliament started under the chairmanship of Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and after the day's agenda, the session was adjourned till 4:30 pm on Wednesday, November 20.
When asked whether the period of the session will be extended, Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury told reporters that the session of the parliament may end on Wednesday. However, no instructions have yet come from the President's office in this regard. According to the constitutional rules, the President calls and declares the end of the session of the Parliament.
The 19th session began on September 12 in the absence of the opposition BNP. The term of this session has already been extended twice. It was decided to hold the session till October 24, but later on October 23, the Working Advisory Committee decided to hold the session till November 7. Then the committee gives the responsibility to the Speaker to extend or shorten the term of Parliament. Then again the deadline has been extended till today Wednesday.
It should be noted that the journey of the current parliament started on January 25, 2009. Accordingly, the term of parliament will end on January 24, 2014.
