The Dhaka Times Desk Strikes and blockades have turned into such violence that there is not even an iota of humanity among the people. Yesterday evening, such a strange fire happened in front of Shishu Park. At least 19 passengers were burnt and 1 died in this incident.
Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb in front of Shishu Park in Shahbagh. At least 19 people were burnt. Burned people were rescued and admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Among them are two bank officials, policemen, women and children. The victims were Abu Talha (42), Robin (42), Shahidul Islam (37), officer of First Security Bank Bangshal branch, Masuma Khatun (25), senior officer of Rupali Bank Shyambazar branch, Jahangir, Shamim (25), officer of private institution, Geeta Sen. (45) and her infant daughter Sushmita, journalist of Muktkhabar of Ekushey TV, Amjad (42), Habildar Nurunnabi (42) of police, Riyad, Nahid, Abdur Razzaq, Rahajul, Khodeja, Nasreen and driver's assistant Hafizul Islam. Nahid, a 10th class student of Madaripur school, was seriously injured in the incident and died.
Burns are being treated in the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. At least 10 people are fighting with death. People are getting burnt in one incident after another but there is no response from the politicians of our country. Their politics is limited to blaming each other. If this kind of inhuman act is not stopped, the common people of this country will one day throw them into the dustbin of history just as they have supported the politicians of this country.
