The Dhaka Times Desk The entire country is immersed in a political situation of not going to the polls and voting alone. Both Awami League and BNP parties are leading the country towards an uncertain destination due to the fear of an unknown threat 'Yuyu'.
Common people today are disorientated due to the fear of this thing called 'Yuyu' of the two top parties of the country. There is no guarantee when the people will get rid of this problem. Because the Awami League is going to conduct the election without an opposition party because of the constitutional obligation, the people are now worried about the situation the country will fall into after the election. There was an expectation of the people that a fair solution would be found through negotiations between the two major parties of the country. Both parties will elect together and peace will be established in the country. But in reality the opposite is happening. One-party elections show no signs of stopping political violence.
The Awami League thought that if the elections were held under a neutral person, they would be defeated. And if they are defeated, the war criminals will go free. The organization of war criminals may burn even more. In that case, the Awami League and its leaders and workers will have to face various problems. Among them is the fear that we call - the fear of 'Yuyu'. Awami League has moved away from the system of non-party government due to the fear of that 'Yuyu'. But if they had elected under a neutral person before the situation of the movement, they might have won. Because the situation of BNP is not very good in recent times on the issue of war crimes. But the fear of that 'juju' is chasing them back.
On the other hand, BNPO is also getting the fear of that 'juju'. BNP thinks that if elections are held under Awami League, Awami League will take power by defeating them through rigging. Then both will go. But now whether or not there is a war crimes issue, at least 80% of the people of the country want elections to be held under a neutral person. And so there is a possibility that BNP will win the election even under Awami League. Because now is the modern era. Now there are so many TV channels in the country. If the elections were held with the participation of all parties, there would have been so many local and foreign observers that it would have been very difficult to manipulate. In that case, the possibility of an impartial election cannot be completely ruled out. But here is the same story - the fear of 'Yuyu'. If power is taken by manipulation, it is fear.
On the other hand, the opposition party can have a peaceful movement if they want. Because most of the people of the country want to vote under a neutral person. If the opposition party called for a peaceful program avoiding violence, then the common people of this country would have stood by them. It was seen in various newspapers and magazines yesterday that long-distance buses are running. The bus is running - but there are no passengers. Because the people also want to be with the opposition party. But violent programs must be avoided. If it was a peaceful program, millions of people of this country would have come down to the streets.
Such a situation of both parties has taken this country to the peak of violence today. Which has no criteria. In fact, the common people of the country are very worried about the direction the country will run on January 5 and thereafter. Due to an unknown fear, the sleep of people's eyes is becoming forbidden. In exchange for the blood of three lakh people, in exchange for the honor of nearly 3 lakh mothers and sisters, we got the independent sovereign state in 1971, as free citizens of the state, we are moving like nomads, afraid. Very sad fate of our country's people! Now is the time to bring the people of this country to the field again. It is our moral responsibility to bring political parties back to the path of peace by avoiding terrorism, anarchy, violent activities. We condemn both the monogamy of the ruling party and the violent actions of the opposition. I wish everyone's good sense.
