Attitudes are changing in changing situation: BNP will not go for any violent movement

The Dhaka Times Desk BNP is considering to continue the movement in non-violent way by involving the people in the changed situation after the January 5 elections.

After the Awami League-led government was formed through the disputed elections, the BNP and 18 parties have canceled the strike program until further instructions.

The movement at the grass roots level of BNP has gone down a lot. Especially since the Awami League has formed a new government, there has been frustration among the leaders and workers at the district and upazila levels. They think that now the Awami League has come to power. They have administration. That is why the leaders and workers have become afraid and armed. In such a situation, there is a lot of doubt about how successful the movement will be. However, the leaders of the party say that their program will mainly focus on increasing public involvement with the leaders and activists at the grassroots level.

It is not clear what program of 18 teams is coming later. A senior leader of BNP was asked whether they will have any strict program like hartal blockade in this movement, but he did not say anything clearly but he said that they will not go for any violent movement.

Political analysts think that BNP has to rely only on foreigners. They think that for the time being, BNP will have to continue the movement. It will be a boomerang for the BNP if it goes against the people only by incendiary measures. That's exactly what happened in the last three years. Such incidents have been seen in the last week's blockade or strike. The capital Dhaka is now under siege. Such long distance buses are also running. Because people's backs are against the wall. Now no one stays at home for fear of vandalism. Now even during the strike, private cars are coming on the road. If a decision is not taken now, there will be no such thing as a violent program like hartal-blockade in future. The issues are said to be within the BNP as well. Now by looking at the program of the next movement it will be understood what their changed political program is.
