The Dhaka Times Desk Former Chief Justice and Chief Advisor to the First Caretaker Government Justice Habibur Rahman has passed away (Inna Lillahirajiun). He was admitted to the United Hospital in the capital on Saturday evening and died around 10 pm. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.

Summary
Muhammad Habibur Rahman was born on December 3, 1928 in Dayarampur village of Jangipur subdivision of Murshidabad district, India. Father Maulvi Zahiruddin Biswas was a lawyer. Zahiruddin Biswas was an active political activist. He was actively involved first in the organizational stage of the Anjuman and later the Muslim League movement. Habibur Rahman's father was a divisional leader of the National War Front during World War II. The West Bengal government arrested him in December 1947 and sent him to Baharampur Jail. However, Zahiruddin Biswas was released after a few days. After the partition of India in 1948, Zahiruddin Biswas left Mushirdabad and moved to Rajshahi and settled permanently. Habibur Rahman's mother Gul Habiba was a housewife.
He received BA in history from Dhaka University in 1949. Honors and M.A. in 1951. passed Then he received BA in Modern History from Oxford University in 1958. Received honors and bachelor's degree.
