Between the rise and fall of water, the river erosion has intensified in the area of Bilchatal, Majnabari, Shubogacha, Natuarpara, Maizbari, Shimla of Sirajganj Sadar upazila and Chauhali upazila in the upstream of Sirajganj city and about 14 km in Kazipur upazila. During the day, at least two square kilometers of arable land including 30 meters of Shimla No. 1 solidspar and hundreds of homesteads were swept under the river. Vast townships of Patrail-Hatail and Chowbari areas from Boalkandi in Bhati Chauhali upazila have been submerged under the river.
