That song from the film made by Humayun Ahmed is still playing a big role in everyone's mind today, 'Showa Chand Pakhi Amar, ami dakitachhi tumi ghumaicha naki'. Countless devotees, readers, friends, colleagues, students and relatives who came to the central Shaheed Minar to say their last farewell to Nandit, it is as if Humayun's favorite song has left a scar in their hearts. None of them stopped crying. There were tears of millions of people in Shaheed Minar. The long line of devotees from Shaheed Minar to Doyal Chatwar was evident in the eagerness to catch a glimpse of this beloved writer and beloved man. Apart from people from different classes and professions, school going teenagers were waiting in a long queue since morning. Innumerable fans, readers and admirers came forward in a row and offered floral greetings, respect and love, bid a final farewell with tears in their eyes.
Everyone has come in yellow Punjabi attire. Keoba came, Kadam flower in hand. Because Humayun Ahmed Kadam liked flowers. It was also revealed in his writings. The body of Humayun Ahmed arrived at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport at 8:55 am yesterday on July 23 in an Emirates Airlines flight. There his family members burst into tears. A heartbreaking scene unfolds at the airport. Later, the ambulance carrying his coffin reached Shaheed Minar at 10:22. Countless people gathered there from 8 am to see the beloved writer for the last time.
Humayun Ahmed's coffin was kept in the mourning platform built by the Samliti Sanskar Joti on the north side of the Shaheed Minar square. His military secretary, Major General Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, first walked the red carpet and laid flowers on the writer's coffin on behalf of the president. After that flowers were presented on behalf of the Prime Minister by his Special Assistant (Media) Mahbubul Haque Shakeel and Prime Minister's APS Saifuzzaman Shikhar. Humayun's first wife's three children Nova, Sheela and Nuhash, the author's two brothers Ahsan Habib and Zafar Iqbal, their two sisters, Zafar Iqbal's wife Yasmin Haque and others were present behind the coffin at the funeral. After a while, Humayun's mother Ayesha Faiz and then the author's second wife Meher Afroz Shaon appeared on the stage of mourning. At this time, young Nuhash was seen hugging the coffin and crying profusely. He was wearing the yellow Punjabi of Himu, the character created by his father. Humayun's long-time friend, veteran journalist Saleh Chowdhury and writer Syed Shamsul Haque were also sitting next to the coffin with sad faces.
On behalf of Awami League, Jatiya Sangsad deputy leader and party presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, joint general secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif and Jahangir Kabir Nanak paid their last respects to Humayun with flowers. Sajeda Chowdhury said, 'Like Rabindranath, Saratchandra and Shamsur Rahman, Humayun Ahmed also left an invaluable contribution to our literature. He has inspired the young society of our country to read books. He has left an incomparable contribution in drama and film.' President Hasanul Haque Inu and women's leader Shirin Akhter gave flowers on behalf of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Jasd.
Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhit said, 'Humayun was such a writer that I could not stop reading his book after I bought it from the book fair. Not only literature, he has left his mark of popularity in various fields including films, dramas. He was also very close to me personally.'
Food Minister Abdur Razzak said, 'Humayun left with outstanding contributions in various fields including literature, film and drama. Irreparable damage was done.' Foreign Minister Dipu Moni commented that the nation will always remember Humayun Ahmed's contribution. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said that some of Humayun's writings are being considered in the curriculum of schools and colleges.
BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir paid tribute to Humayun's coffin on behalf of opposition leader Khaleda Zia. Mirza Fakhrul, Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Abdus Salam and Khairul Kabir Khokon paid tribute on behalf of BNP.

Humayun Ahmed's coffin was accompanied by his son Nuhash Humayun, two daughters Nova and Sheela Ahmed, two brothers. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Ahsan Habib, two sisters Sufia Haroon and Mumtaz Ahmed and the literary writer Syed Shamsul Haque. Nuhash was wearing yellow Punjabi like the character 'Himu' created by Humayun Ahmed. He was as steadfast as his father with a blank stare and stern face. Nuhash was as emotionless as a stone statue even though his sister and other relatives were crying all the time.

Muhammad Zafar Iqbal thanked everyone
Muhammad Zafar Iqbal spoke on behalf of Humayun Ahmed's family at the end of the tribute ceremony. He said, 'Humayun Ahmed is my brother. Coming here, I understand that he is not only of our family, but of every family in the country. He is someone's brother, someone's child.' He said, 'I apologize to those who could not see Humayun Bhai. Even if he is not there, he feels your love. I thank everyone for coming here.' He also said, 'He tried to make everyone happy with his writings and films. If you are happy then pray for my brother. May he be happy wherever he is.' The tribute ended with a speech by Naseeruddin Yusuf, president of the Samilit Sanskari Jota. On behalf of every culture worker of the country, he said, "Humayun Ahmed as a novelist has won the hearts of millions of people, this presence today is proof." He not only wrote literary works, but also made dramas and films. Through which the history-heritage of our country came up. He was the first to use the term 'Tui Razakar'." He said, 'He used his talent to explain various national events to common people in simple terms. He lives on in all of you, I hope.' Apart from Bangladesh Television, five private television stations broadcast the tribute program live from Shaheed Minar. Two mourning books were opened at Shaheed Minar.
Humayun Ahmed died at the age of 64 on July 19 at Bellevue Hospital in New York, USA, after a long nine-month battle with cancer. The plane carrying his coffin reached Shahjalal Airport at 8:56 am on July 23. A group of well-dressed policemen shouldered his coffin from the plane to an ambulance decorated with flowers. The entire program was conducted at the central Shaheed Minar by Golam Qudduch, Vice President of Samilit Sansikkar Jot, General Secretary Hasan Arif and Manzarul Islam Sweet.
Kusum you take me to Nuhash village
Every inch of soil in Nuhash village is known to him, every grass is known to him. Please bury him there. Don't hurt him anymore. He will be scared if taken anywhere else. He is afraid of unknown places. Meher Afroz Shawon expressed her opinion about the burial of her late husband, national fiction writer Humayun Ahmed, in a weak voice mixed with tears on her return home. He said in front of the reporters that his last wish was in Nuhash village. The night before the operation, he told me that if something happened to me, everyone would be pulling for me. Kusum (Shawn) you take me to Nuhash village. Don't let me drag you. He said this while sitting in the VIP lounge of Shahjalal International Airport after returning home with the dead body of Humayun Ahmed on the morning of July 23. At this time, Meher Afroz Shaon burst into tears. He was so overwhelmed by the grief of these few days that he did not even have the strength to stand up. That is why he was taken down from the plane with the help of a wheel chair. Crying, closing his waterless weak eyes and folding his hands, he repeated the same request that Humayun Ahmed should be arranged to sleep forever in Nuhash village. He said, 'The soul of my children's father will suffer if he is buried elsewhere. At that time, Foreign Secretary Mizarul Kayes, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif consoled him and said that everything will be done as per his word. Shaun was quickly taken away by his mother Tahura Ali MP and sister Senjuti as he became weaker from crying. Seeing the mother's cry and the crowd of people, Shawon's little son Ninid started crying there. To stop the crying of the younger brother, their eldest son Nishad immediately pushed him out of the crowd with him in his arms.

Shaon Humayun Ahmed's burial in the central Shaheed Minar also made the same request. His wife Meher Afroz Shaon said that this was the writer's last wish, seeking everyone's support to bury him in his own Nuhash village. Shaun says, I know only one thing. He loved Nuhash Palli more than his own life. Each tree is planted by its own hand. He used to talk to these trees. He told me, if something happens to me, everyone will pull on me. Don't let me drag you. You take me to Nuhash village. Bring me to those trees. Shaon also mentioned that before his death, Humayun Ahmed had forbidden him to be buried in an unknown place.

After paying respects at the central Shaheed Minar, the legendary poet Humayun Ahmed was taken to the National Eidgah Maidan. Millions of people flocked there. Apart from the current members of the Council of Ministers, some former ministers and leaders of various political parties were also present.

Humayun's friends and relatives said that Humayun Ahmed used to call his three daughters 'Amma'. Even the girls could not think of spending a moment without their father. This is how they grow. But Humayun's second family messed up a lot of things. Humayun Ahmed divorced Gultekin in 2005. At the same time, the three daughters lost all contact with their father. After a long time, he got his son Nuhash close, but he did not even meet the girls.
He is described in several books written while undergoing treatment in New York. In a book, he has separately reminisced about three daughters. He gave a simple description of his nature. Humayun writes about Shila, when Shila was twelve or thirteen years old. I went to Los Angeles with everyone. Can't afford to stay at a hotel. I went to my friend Fazlul Alam's house. Fazlu knows I like camping. He arranged camping in the forest. We went to spend a night in the forest. It is very cold. Huddled inside the tent and sleeping. I fell asleep once. In the middle of the night, he woke up to the sound of crying. Look, the rock is sitting. Crying. I said mom, what happened? Sheela says she is suffocating, she can't breathe. I understand, this girl has severe claustrophobia. He really can't breathe. I said, wear warm clothes. I will sit outside the tent. He said, I can't live alone. feel afraid I went to be alone for a while. I said, I will stay by your side all night. At one point Sheela slept peacefully with her head on my shoulder. It's morning. The girl woke up. He said, father, you are a good man. Humayun is writing, I said, mother! There are many bad people in the world, but there is not one bad father.
Humayun Ahmed's last address is Nuhas Palli
It was decided to bury Humayun Ahmed on July 24, but there was a lot of trouble about where to bury him. Because a part of the family is in favor of burial in Dhaka intellectual cemetery or any other place in Dhaka. Humayun Ahmed's two daughters and eldest son Nuhas said to be buried in Dhaka. Because of this, a lot of debate started. First, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Minister of State for Local Government, held a meeting with the two girls and boys. After that a meeting was held from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM at Humayun Ahmed's residence 'Dakhina Hawa'. As there was no decision even in a long meeting with his wife Shawon, a meeting was held that night at Jahangir Kabir Nanak's house where Humayun Ahmed's younger brother Muhammad Zafar Iqbal along with the leaders of the combined cultural alliance were present. There the decision was made for burial in Nuhas Palli. Because Humayun Ahmed's last wish was to be laid to rest in Nuhas village.
Mourning the Cabinet
The condolence proposal was unanimously accepted in the cabinet on the death of famous poet Humayun Ahmed and architect Mazharul Islam. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan raised this condolence proposal in the Cabinet meeting held on July 23 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Later the cabinet members unanimously approved it. After the meeting, Secretary Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan informed the reporters.
