The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has started morning-evening hartal across the country. Jamaat-e-Islami called a hartal to protest against the conspiracy to kill the party's Amir Matiur Rahman Nizami in the 10 truck weapons case.
In a statement last Friday, Jamaat-e-Islami announced a morning-evening strike across the country on Monday. After that, Jamaat-e-Islami decided to postpone the hartal program on Monday and hold it on Thursday due to the return of the Muslims who had come for the World Ijtema and Saraswati Puja.
Meanwhile, no major sabotage has been reported since morning. Public transport is running in the capital. Tempos, mini buses, CNG and rickshaws were seen plying. The train left from Kamalapur as usual.
Meanwhile, the owners have announced to run buses in Dhaka during the strike of Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat-e-Islami has announced that the Chapainawabganj hartal will be exempted from the Hindu community's Ganga bath.
It should be noted that this is the first hartal after the current government took office after the January 5 election.
