A lawyer named Nazrul Islam filed this case in the court of Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate BM Nizamul Haque as plaintiff on August 1.
Various news media confirmed the news yesterday on August 1 and said that the court took cognizance of the case and ordered the investigation to the CID Chittagong region ASP. Badi said in his petition that Shaon and Mazhar conspired to kill Humayun Ahmed in order to embezzle a large amount of Humayun Ahmed's wealth kept by Shaon and to maintain relations with Mazhar. Daily Azadi and Amar Desh Barta editor and writer Abdul Hai Shikdar has been a witness in the case.
Plaintiff Nazrul Islam stated in the statement that on July 17, Humayun Ahmed fell seriously ill after falling from a chair at his New York home and the sutures of the operation were opened. Still, Shawn did not take him to Bellevue Hospital that day but took him to the infamous Jamaica Hospital the next day. When Humayun's condition worsened there, he was taken to Bellevue Hospital in his own car. Doctor on duty there. Shawn and Mazhar cover up Miller falling off the chair. Because of this, Humayun Ahmed died on July 19 at 11:20 PM Bangladesh time. Doctors at Bellevue Hospital made it clear that he did not die of cancer. In the statement, the plaintiff of the case also mentioned that, according to the news of the newspaper, his wife Shawon did not go with Humayun Ahmed to Jamaica Hospital. Even the day after he fell from the chair, when Humayun was writhing in severe pain, Shaun took the doctor's phone number from Biswajit Saha, a New York liberal representative. However, even though Shaun and Mazhar were in charge of Humayun's treatment and care, they did not feel the need to keep the doctor's phone number. Shaon organized a party that evening when Humayun Ahmed recovered from the hospital and returned to his rented house on July 12 after the operation. At that party, Humayun, who was ill after a cancer operation, was allowed to eat meat and drink. Besides, Shaon and Mazhar were absent for about two hours during Humayun's operation at Bellevue Hospital. Although Shaon said that Humayun's operation would be delayed, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered to bear all the expenses of Humayun's treatment during her visit to New York. Still, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina forcefully gave a check of ten thousand US dollars to Humayun, but later Shaon returned this check too. But Shaon told various media that Humayun's treatment could not be continued at the world-famous Snowan Memorial Catering Cancer Hospital due to financial constraints. Also, on July 17 and 18, Shaon and Mazhar asked various media about Humayun's physical condition, but they did not give any answer. They also did not say about keeping Humayun alive with life support. On the contrary, Shaon and Mazhar in a statement given to Dhaka's top newspapers and electronic media said that Humayun's condition is stable. They kept Humayun alive with life support from the media as well.
Plaintiff Nazrul also mentioned in the statement of the case, Dr. Humayun Ahmed's doctor. Miller clearly told the New York Address newspaper that Humayun did not die of cancer. Although doctors at Sloan Memorial Catering Hospital said Humayun was 100% healthy, Shaon and Majhar took him from Sloan Memorial, a specialized cancer hospital, to non-specialized Bellevue Hospital, citing financial constraints. Shaon and Mazhar did not treat Humayun on time in that hospital either. Nazrul, the plaintiff in the case, pointed out that the behavior of Shaon and Mazhar is rooted in the idea that Humayun Ahmed's large amount of property, which is accumulated by Shaon, and to maintain relations with Mazhar, is a well-planned collusion in the name of treatment. He killed Humayun. Plaintiff stated in the statement that he can get these information by reading the news published in Dainik Azadi and Amardesh. Advocates for the plaintiff were Kamrul Islam Sajjad and Md Mainuddin. After filing the case, the plaintiff Nazrul Islam said that the flow of events before and after the death of Humayun Ahmed, the suspicious behavior of Shaon and Mazhar, the incoherent conversations and the eyewitness accounts of the incident clearly indicate that it was a planned murder. A lot of information and evidence will be provided to the investigating officer of the case. The plaintiff also said that Humayun Ahmed is the pride and wealth of Bangladesh. Everyone in the country thinks his death is not natural. It is the responsibility of the state to identify those directly and indirectly involved in the murder of this eminent fiction writer and give exemplary punishment. Plaintiff's lawyer Kamrul Islam Sajjad said that although the incident took place in New York, the planner and the place of planning is Bangladesh. According to Section 4 of the Criminal Code, a murder case has been registered in the country. The court did not set any specific time limit for submitting the investigation report due to various issues in other countries.
Meanwhile, after filing this case, we tried to contact Shaun but he was not available. But when asked the opinion of some people who are big fans of Humayun, they said that it is nothing but a conspiracy. Shaon tried to cure Humayun Ahmed by sacrificing a lot for 9 months. Is this his crime? They ask why Mazharul Islam, the owner of another publication, will go to kill Humayun Ahmed? Rather, Humayun Ahmed's death caused a huge loss to his business.
After the burial of Humayun Ahmed, his mother was asked such questions by journalists. TV channel journalists have repeatedly asked, was the death of your son normal? In reply, he said, "My son was ill, he was treated, tried to make him well, but he did not survive, so he had to leave."
But whatever happens, people want to see the real truth through a fair investigation. Because billions of readers from home and abroad respect Humayun Ahmed. The common people do not want anyone to politicize his death.
