Finally putting an end to all the speculations, the long time dream of the people of Cox's Bazar is going to be realized on February 23. It is known that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to implement the long-standing tension and cherished dreams of the district residents. He will inaugurate the stadium and complex on February 23. Although the T20 Promeela World Cup cricket match to be started in March will not be held at this stadium, the concerned authorities are moving forward keeping in mind that the practice match will be held at Cox's Bazar.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan Papon inspected the latest status of the stadium under construction at Labani Point tourist golf course on Cox's Bazar beach on Wednesday afternoon.
The BCB president told the reporters at this time, 'This stadium built with BCB's own funding has two fields. All facilities will be filled gradually. The government has announced plans to hand it over to the BCB. It will be BCB's own stadium.'
The locals think that the tourism industry will develop further as the international cricket stadium is built here. For this, the concerned government ministers and cricket board officials have been thanked on behalf of the district residents.
Note that this stadium is being named Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.
