The Dhaka Times Desk Police are present in the courtroom. Because if someone's bail is canceled during the trial, he is immediately sent to jail. But the 4 defendants escaped from that prison today!
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon. Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 Judge A. B. M. When Nizamul Haque canceled their bail, they ran away from the court. They are accused in the murder case of Zubair, a student of the English Department of Jahangirnagar University. These are Khan Md. Raees, Mahbub Akram, Khandaker Ashiqul Islam, Ishtiaq Arup.
There were 13 accused in the case. Two were absent today. The rest appeared in court. The court today ordered cancellation of their bail and issued arrest warrants against the two absconders.
It is to be noted that on January 8, 2012, a student of Jahangirnagar University, Zubair Ahmed, was hacked and injured by Chhatra League cadres. He died the next day while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital. Hamidur Rahman, former registrar of Jahangirnagar University, filed a murder case at Ashulia police station.
