The Dhaka Times Desk Almost everyone needs a driving license. Many people get into various complications while doing driving science. These complications are mostly due to not being aware of the details. Today we will tell you the details about what you need or have to do to get a driving license.
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority for issuing driving license in Bangladesh Learner's License, professional, the amateur, PSV And the instructor etc. license is given in the department. However, before taking any type of driving license, you must acquire a learner's driving license. You need to hold a learner's driving license till the test for professional, amateur, PSV and instructor driving licences. The learner driving license is valid for three months. To get a license to drive a heavy vehicle, you must hold a light motor vehicle license for 3 years.

The fee for obtaining learner driving license is Tk 230 for private car only and Tk 345 for both private car and motorcycle. The fee should be deposited at the post office designated by BRTA.
You can apply for Professional, Amateur, PSV and Instructor etc. driving license if you pass the test for Professional, Amateur, PSV & Instructor etc. driving license before your learner driving license expires. In these cases the application fee is different from one to another. In case of amateur license fee Rs 2,300 for private cars and Rs 2,400 for light vehicles and motorcycles.

You must be over 20 years old to get professional driving license and 18 years old to get amateur driving license.

In order to get a driving license there must be certain qualifications, among these you must fulfill certain obligations in the health, physical, mental and educational categories. Let's find out in which cases you will not be considered eligible to get a driving license.
1) If you have not passed 8th standard.
2) If you are epileptic, deaf, night blindness, heart disease, color blind.
3) If you are unfit to drive due to physical disability/physical deficiency/defect.
Everything you need to apply for a driving license
1) Prescribed application form printed from BRTA office.
2) Blood group with medical certificate by specialist doctor.
3) 3 copies of recent photographs should be submitted to the BRTA office along with the application form.
4) In case of learner driving license the prescribed fee and in case of applying for professional, amateur, PSV and instructor driving license etc. prescribed fee should be submitted to BRTA designated post office.
5) Application form can be submitted at designated BRTA offices in all district towns.

Application review time limit
After you go through all the above steps and submit the Apprenticeship Application, BRTA will issue you Apprentice License for 3 months on a fixed date within seven days after reviewing the application form.
The next step is to get a learner's driving license
After getting the learner driving license, the concerned BRTA office will inform you about the date to appear for written, oral and practical test. Only if you appear and pass the test on the scheduled date, you will attend the practical test in the designated place of BRTA office (in front of Additional District Magistrate/First Class Magistrate at District level) in the vehicle of your choice to get driving license. In this case you have to give 3 tests. These are, zigzag test, jump test and road test. After passing these tests, the authorities will issue your driving license.
Term or renewal
All types of amateur licenses are to be renewed after 10 years and professional licenses after five years. Otherwise the license shall be deemed to be cancelled.
