The Dhaka Times Desk Storage capacity suffered the most from solid state drives, or SSDs. SanDisk has solved this problem. They are launching a 2.5-inch 4TB SSD. It is an Optimus Max product of 19 nanometer process technology.
SanDisk's new 4TB Optimus MAX SAS SSD has the highest storage capacity in the history of SSDs at 2.5 inches in size. This SSD comes with a 6Gbps SAS interface. This drive is specifically designed for read-intensive applications such as data storage, media streaming and web servers.
This drive has 90 percent read and 10 percent write capacity. It can perform sequential read and write up to 400 MBps. It can simultaneously process up to 75,000 read and write input and output per second.
SanDisk says the Optimus MAX SSD is far more powerful than the current 2.5-inch capacity 10,000 and 15,000 rpm SAS hard disk drives. As a result it will replace other drives.
Optmimus MAX SSD capable of full writes one to three times per day. So storage and server equipment manufacturers are eagerly waiting. However, the high capacity drive will be marketed in the third quarter of this year.
