The Dhaka Times Desk The father-in-law of Narayanganj's main victim Nazrul, who is the main victim of the much-discussed Seven Murder incident in Narayanganj, has expressed his fear that there may be an attempt to cover up the incident by killing Noor Hossain in crossfire. He made such comments in an interview given to a TV channel on Friday.
Former UP chairman Shahidul Islam, the father-in-law of missing and murdered councilor Nazrul, has demanded that Narayanganj City Corporation panel Mayor Nazrul Islam and lawyer Chandan Sarkar, along with the main accused in the 7 murders, Noor Hossain, should not be put in the crossfire. He expressed fear and said, 'There may be an attempt to cover up the real incident by killing Noor Hossain in crossfire.'
Shahidul Islam gave this demand to reporters at his home in Siddhirganj on Friday and said, "If Noor Hossain is put in the crossfire, the real criminals will remain out of reach." He claimed, 'We want to know the real facts, we want justice for those murderers who are involved in the incident. We do not want to see Gonjamil's investigation or arrest in any way.'
On the other hand, the President of the District Lawyers' Association Sakhawat Hossain also expressed such an attitude and said, "We will not accept it if you put someone in the crossfire and try to cover up the real incident." He said, the true face of the killers should be exposed before the nation.
It is to be noted that Councilor Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam told TV channels that RAB had committed this crime with a bribe of Tk 6 crore a few days ago.
