Malaysia urges migrant workers to refrain from fraud in JTUG process

The Dhaka Times Desk Recently, there have been many complaints about Malaysian travelers. A class of fraudsters have capitalized on the government-run low-cost move to Malaysia by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. They are extorting a lot of money from commuters through SMS.

After these issues were detected, BMET alerted the workers who were going to Malaysia in the process of fraud through SMS.

A notification in this regard has been published on the website. According to the notification, "In the G-to-G process, an attempt is being made to extort money from the employees by sending fake SMS to the mobile numbers of the employees who are officially going to Malaysia. The fraudsters are tricking workers into depositing a specified amount in the bank or in cash by sending an SMS saying “Malaysia visa arrived”. All concerned are requested by BMET not to fall into the trap of such SMS messages. It should be noted that after receiving the visa from Malaysia, SMS messages are sent directly from BMET to the employees' mobile phones and calls are made if necessary. Immigration expenses are deposited only through receipts at “Prabasi Kalyan Bank, Kakrail Branch, BMET Bhawan”. Officially for any needs related to immigration to Malaysia can be contacted on the following phone numbers- 9361696, 01715228307.”

It is clear from the above notice that there is no rule to deposit money anywhere or in any person's account except at “Pravasi Kalyan Bank, Kakrail Branch, BMET Bhawan” only. Anyone who does this will be cheated. The general public has been urged to be alert in this regard.
