The Dhaka Times Desk The investigation into the sensational Narayanganj seven murders is going on. While some of the accused have been arrested, the main accused is still absconding. Meanwhile, the father-in-law of the slain panel mayor Nazrul complained that he was threatened with death.
Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam filed a general diary in Siddhirganj police station alleging that he was threatened. He filed that diary in the police station seeking safety of his life.
Shahidul Islam, the father-in-law of deceased panel mayor Nazrul, said in the police station diary that former president of Jatiya Sramik League Central Committee Abdul Matin Master's nephew Nazrul and Monir called him and 3 people threatened to kill him. They said, if I say anything more about the case, they will shoot me dead.
Note that on April 27, the panel mayor Nazrul along with 5 associates and lawyer Chandan Sarkar were kidnapped along with the driver. Three days later, their half-melted bodies were recovered from Shitalaksha. Meanwhile, after this incident, Nazrul's father-in-law made several complaints. Later these allegations were proved to be true.
Former UP chairman Shahidul Islam, Nazrul's father-in-law, first alleged that RAB-11 officials were involved in this incident. RAB took a bribe of Tk 6 crore and made this incident happen. Later, those RAB officials were first withdrawn and later sent back to their respective departments as the complaint was prima facie evidence. Later the respective departments took cognizance of the basis of the initial complaint against them and granted compulsory retirement. Later on the orders of the High Court, they (3 officials) were arrested and remanded by the police. However, no significant information about the remand has been received so far. Moreover, they have been arrested under section 54. They have not yet been linked to this case.
Later, Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam alleged that Noor Hossain might have been killed in the cross fire. Such actions may be taken to protect others involved in the incident.
Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam has made various allegations that the case is being taken in different sectors and why the accused have fled. And because of this, terrorists have threatened him once before. Again the same threat was given.
The most talked about incident of the country so far is the kidnapping and later killing of 7 people from Narayanganj. This incident has defied all the brutality of civilized society. The terrorists did not stop by killing one Nazrul. 6 other people had to give their lives along with Nazrul. Although there was a political conflict with Nazrul, lawyer Chandan Sarkar was an absolutely innocent person. He also had to die because of seeing the incident.
The common people are also alarmed as the cases of kidnapping, disappearance and murder in the country have increased in recent times. There is no guarantee that anyone will be able to return home after leaving the house. Abundance of money and power has turned people into inhumans. Valuing religious principles and ideals can - steer people away from such injustices. Otherwise we will never be able to introduce ourselves as people of civilized society.
