The Dhaka Times Desk It is estimated that 2500 guests will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the elected Prime Minister of India.
BJP-backed Narendra Modi is going to take oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India on Monday, May 26. Extensive preparations have been made on the occasion of this oath ceremony. Many people have been invited including SAARC heads of state.
It is known that two and a half thousand people have been invited by the party in this event organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan. All members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been invited. However, their family members are left out.
On the other hand, the recently departed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may attend the swearing-in ceremony. On the other hand, former president Abul Kalam Azad and Pratibha Patil have also been invited.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to be present at the invited swearing-in ceremony among the heads of SAARC countries. But still cannot be confirmed. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will attend the event as a representative of the Head of Government of Bangladesh.
Narendra Modi's 95-year-old mother Hiraba and brother are likely to attend the event.
It is to be noted that this informal event lasting one hour and 10 minutes will start at 6 pm that day.
